The next club meeting will be on October 30 at 8 p.m.

The Fencing club will begin using the nights on Tuesdays again starting in October and running through March. The Riverside NASP program will be using the clubs on Monday and Thursday nights as well. Please make arrangements to shoot earlier in the day or on an alternative night. Members will continue to shoot together on Wednesdays starting in January for the indoor 600 league and new shooters are welcome.

Thank you everyone that had participated in the local 3d League on behalf of CVB; CVB has officially won the 2019 3D Archery League! It was thanks to the exceptional member turn out and perseverance- congratulations, everyone!

On Sunday, October 6 there will be a club workday to start collecting wood for the winter. The more folks that help show up, the smoother and faster it will go with more wood available. We will be heading over the hill to cut wood, and hopefully have enough folks to help split and stack. Members will be meeting at 9 a.m. to begin. If you can help please come, as many hands make for light work!

During hunting season the club grounds are open for hunting to currently registered members. Please remember to sign into the club house when hunting and indicate the time of arrival. There is no fee for hunting the grounds if the lights aren’t used. This is a safety and liability concern.

Good luck out there this hunting season, everyone!!

We hope to see as many shooters as possible, and this is a great opportunity to get ready for hunting season in just a few short weeks- and we’re hoping for a strong turnout for CVB in the league!

Huge ‘Thank you’ to all the members and young NASP shooters for coming out and helping with the June 8 workday! With the help of the NASP students we were able to clear the big trees off of the course, reestablish shooting lanes, and repair the bridges to get the course back into operation.

The next club meeting will be held on May 29, 2019, at 8 pm.

The weekly NASP shooting sessions have slowed significantly with the spring sports season, and the club is now open all nights for member use. The indoor range is open with shooting fees being $3 for electricity and targets, while the outdoor and 80-yard range are free.

The road over the hillside should be getting redone soon. A specific date hasn’t been set yet but it’s looking to be done before our first league shoot at the latest. This will open it to 4x4 trucks for firewood and course prep.

The monthly CVB 3D shoot will return to the third Sunday of the month for the remainder of the season. Set ups will be the Friday night before the shoot at 5 p.m. as well. The first league shoot of the season will be Rochester on June 9. Our next shoot will be Sunday, May 19 with set up on Friday, May 17 at 5 p.m. Any help is appreciated!

Newsletter - December 2018

Meeting:
January 2. Next meeting: January 30 at 8 p.m.

The Indoor 600 League is underway and runs for the first thirteen weeks of the year. It’s $3 a week to help cover electricity and targets. Participants are randomly assigned to teams and scoring is based on each individual’s improvement on their own average. Scoring is not impacted by the overall scores of archers or their teams. This is open to all, and any skill level can participate- including family members. Scores are to be turned into the Score box by the door with your name, date, and the week number included. Scores can be shot at any time and can be made up or shot ahead of time as necessary.

The club will be closed on Thursday nights for the Riverside NASP program. This will be every Thursday night throughout the school year. The fencing club will also continue using the club on Tuesday nights throughout the winter. If you are shooting the indoor league or just intend to use the indoor range, please try to do so earlier in the day, on the outdoor range instead, or on an alternative night. The large bathroom will also be closed for NASP storage. The heater is on so please keep the bathroom door closed.

The quarter-operated furnace has been refilled and will be operational for fifty cents for about twenty minutes. It is located in the office near the target room. There is wood available for the wood furnace as well.

With the tree tops left from the loggers there is an abundance of firewood over the hillside. There will be scheduled work days for processing this wood through the year, and members that help cut and stack will be able to take wood for their personal use.

We hope everyone has had a wonderful New Year and we hope to see you all this season!
