CVB Newsletter - August 2017

posted Sep 14, 2017, 11:07 AM by Joseph McCormick   [ updated Sep 14, 2017, 11:18 AM ]

Meeting: August 30. Next meeting: September 27 at 8 p.m.

3D League: The September 17 league shoot will be our final 3D for the year and it’s be a big one! It’s not only the final league shoot for the club, it’s the last league shoot for the 2017 season. Any score cards turned in will count for the club, both good and bad scores help! Please help us finish strong.

Set up will be the Friday before on September 15 at 5 p.m. Some of the regulars will be gone so we’ll need extra help running the table during the shoot and tearing down. The stakes, targets, and signs must be pulled for the winter. All hands on deck! With the loggers coming in the fall this is especially important. Tear down will be Sunday after the shoot, around 2 p.m.

Logging and Club Property:  Hunting the club property this year will be open until contacted by the loggers. A notification letter of their start date will be sent to club members at that time.  The targets in front of the club will be getting rebuilt next season rather than replaced to save money. There are new faces available through R&W, the same company as our new 3d targets, that are far more affordable than entire new targets. Their targets appear to be good value and with club pricing available we are likely to purchase more from them in the future.

NASP: The club may need cleaning and freshening before hosting the new Riverside NASP program in the fall. There hasn’t been a confirmation of dates yet so notification of work days may be sent out later. The extent of the required clean-up is also being determined.

Buck Pool:  The Buck Pool has started! It’s $5 to sign up, with the winner taking the pot. Bow/crossbow during early archery only. Score is points plus spread. Contact a club officer or bring the rack to the meeting for confirmation.

2017 Membership: The July meeting marked the changeover for the new membership year. If you haven’t renewed yet please contact Will Stoops for renewal and key swap.

Remaining 3D Shoots:

Connoquenessing Valley Bowmen (League shoot) … September 17
Rochester Sportsmen’s Club … September 24
